There are many fans who look forward to this every year. This festival which began in 1990 was advocated by Leonard Bernstein, a composer and conductor. It is an international music education festival with the purpose of developing young musical talent from around the world. These concerts which center around Sapporo, feature young people who aspire to be musicians and first-class educators who give guidance to these youths. The venues include Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara and outdoor venues such as Odori Park and the outdoor stage of Sapporo Art Park. Numerous concerts are free of charge so that many can casually enjoy classical music.\n
