ぬかびら源泉郷の周辺に点在する旧国鉄士幌線コンクリートアーチ橋梁群の中でも、特に代表的なコンクリートアーチ橋です。
ダムの水が少ない1月頃から凍結した湖面に姿を現し、水位が上昇する6月頃から沈み始め、8-10月頃には湖底に沈みます。(その年の雨量など、複数の要因により時期は毎年変動しています。)
このように、季節によってその姿が見え隠れするアーチ橋はここだけです。幻の橋といわれる所以です。(1937年/10m×11R)
