Betsukai Town Museum focuses on ecology and history. It has documents passed down from the Kaga family describing the Nemuro region during the last days of shogunate control. You can learn about Konsen Pilot Farm here in the Toyohara branch of the museum, which explains the history of dairy farming in the area, a major industry in the town which was financially supported by the World Bank in the 1950s.
