Candle Stream, Nakajima Park, Sapporo 2026

This is a light event held across the whole of Sapporo's Nakajima Park, themed around "The light of connection spreading from SAPPORO". After sunset, Sax Samurai will perform at the North Entrance Plaza, which serves as the park's gateway. He has made only a handful of appearances in Hokkaido. Enjoy a special night in a park wrapped in illumination.

What is Candle Stream 2026?

Candle Stream 2026 is a spectacular light event hosted by the Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Young Entrepreneurs Group (Sapporo YEG). With the theme “A Light of Connection Spreading from SAPPORO,” 2,000 LED balloons will float over Nakajima Park, creating a magical “river of light” across the park after dark. From 11:00 to 20:00, the event brings together the energy of the daytime with the beauty of the illuminated park at night.

Sax Samurai's Performance

The 45-minute performance begins at 19:00 at the North Entrance Plaza of Nakajima Park. We have been given the beautiful time slot just after the river of light comes to life. This will be one of only a few opportunities to see Sax Samurai perform in Hokkaido.

Things to See Nearby

Nakajima Park is a large urban park located just south of Susukino. The park is home to Hoheikan, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, as well as a traditional Japanese garden. Its scenery changes beautifully with the seasons.

Nakajima Park Station on the Namboku Subway Line is just a short walk from the park. After the performance, Susukino is also within easy walking distance.
