焼尻島は日本海にある小さな島です。約200人が住んでいます。
萌州ファームは、焼尻島に「めん羊牧場」という牧場を経営しています。彼らは80ヘクタールの草原に約500匹のサフォーク羊を飼っています。これらの羊は日本では「 プレ・サレ焼尻 」として知られており、高品質の羊肉と見なされています。草原は恩賜海道に沿って広がり、スコットランドのように見えると言われています。草原に入ることは禁止されていますが、恩賜海道沿いの景色を楽しむことができます。

祭事・イベント
焼尻めん羊まつり（やぎしりめんようまつり）は、北海道羽幌町焼尻島で行われるめん羊（サフォーク種）などを焼肉にするイベント。例年8月の第一土曜日、日曜日に開催。
概要
焼尻島で1983年から開催され続けている、ヒツジを焼肉にするイベント。2014年からは島内で飼育されるサフォーク種の提供を目玉としている。生のサフォーク種のラム肉は入手が難しいこともあり、肉を目当てに多くの人が来島する機会となっている。もっとも、島内で飼育するサフォークの総数は200頭前後と数は少なく、イベントに提供できる頭数は10頭前後にせざるを得ないため、来場者1人あたり1パック（200g程度）の購入制限が存在する。物足りない客には海産物の販売もある。炭火焼台は無料で提供されており、肉は焼台の網上で塩とコショウを掛けて焼く。北海道で一般的なジンギスカン鍋は用いられない。
