In 1871, a firebreak was built to cut Central Ward in half. The firebreak was named Shiribeshi Dori, and then renamed Odori later on. Odori Park is in the heart of Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Ōdōri means "large street" in Japanese. It stretches east to west through West 1 chōme, Ōdōri to West 12 chōme. Odori Park is about 1.5 km long and 78,901 m².
It is used for many of Hokkaido’s best-known seasonal events, such as the Snow Festival in the winter, Lilac Festival in the spring, YOSAKOI Soran Festival and beer garden in the summer, and Autumn Fes, which has a lot of local cuisines, in the fall.
