The monks start their day at 3:30am and sleep around 8pm. Regular visitors aren’t allowed to enter the monastery.

Red-brick, 19th-century monastery with a shop selling butter, jam, cookies and soft serve ice cream made by the monks. The monks wake up at about 3:30am and sleep around 8pm. The monastery is a 30 minute walk from Oshima-Tobetsu Station. It’s a 40-minute drive from Hakodate.
