2024-2025 Blossom Timing
In Sapporo, the first blossoms will be out around April 18th. The cherry blossoms will be at their best between April 24th and April 29th. Usually about 4 to 11 days after they start blooming. They bloom a little later in Niseko as there is still snow there.

A 5-minute walk from the Maruyama Koen Station on the Tozai Subway Line
Maruyama Park is very popular and people are allowed to have BBQs here in summer in the designated areas. It's a popular destination for viewing cherry blossoms each spring. The park is also a popular spot for picnics, walks, and other outdoor activities, and it features several walking paths, a large pond, and a number of other features that make it a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Nakajima Park is a city park in Central Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. The park has a lake, two streams, a museum, a concert hall (Kitara), an observatory, a historical building with a tea shop, and several lawns and forests. At the south end, there are two shrines. Wikipedia
Went during cherry blossom time in the Golden Week. The traditional style park was a wonderful place for hanami or cherry blossom viewing. There were lots of people -- in big groups, romantic couples, three generational family groups -- with food, beer, sake enjoying the beauty of the different varieties of cherry trees in full bloom. The park itself is beautifully designed with a large pond you can row rental boats on.
There are also a cultural complexes around the park. However, you should bring your own food and drinks as there aren't a lot of facilities around. There are toilets but really old ones here.

Odori Park is just above Odori Subway Station, the central connecting point for all subway lines (the Nanboku, Tozai and Toho Subway Lines). A 10-minute walk from the south exit of Sapporo JR Station.

25 minutes by bus from the Toho Subway Line's Kanjodori-higashi Station
This park has about 1,700 cherry trees that usually bloom around Golden Week. Visitors can enjoy cherry blossom viewing picnics here but BBQs aren't allowed. The parking lot can be full on holidays when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. So it is sometimes better to use public transportation. The cherry trees here bloom a bit later than other trees around Sapporo.
Akarenga Building & The Surrounding Garden

Akarenga Government Building has ponds and flower beds. The azalea beds including the Yama-tsutsuji with many red flowers, the Ezo-murasaki azalea with pinkish-purple flowers that bloom before the leaves, and doudan azaleas with white flowers that look like pretty lily-of-the-valley flowers.
It is said that the Red Brick Building has about 2.5 million bricks. The retro atmosphere of the Akarenga government office building is nice. The Akarenga government office building looks nice when you take pictures of it near the cherry trees.

This shrine stands in a quiet, bracing environment surrounded by the Mt. Hakodate forest. It first opened in 1445 (checked with the shrine).
The Hakodate Hachimangu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Hakodate, Japan. It's one of the oldest shrines in the city, and has a rich history that dates back over almost 600 years.
The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the Shinto god of war and patron of the samurai. It's said that the shrine was built to protect the city of Hakodate from the attacks of Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, and to bring good luck and prosperity to the local residents.

Hekirichi Jinya

Hekirichi Jinya was the first Western-style star-shaped fortress in Japan, built in 1855 by the Matsumae Clan under the order of the Edo Shogunate for the defense of Ezochi following the opening of the port of Hakodate in the late Edo Period. It was designed and built by Fujiwara Shirouma, a retainer of the Matsumae Clan [source needed]. In the Hakodate War of 1868, the garrison itself set itself on fire on October 23 and withdrew from the area, as the former shogunate forces that had landed in Ezochi marched in. On October 23, the garrison itself set itself on fire and retreated. It was called Anahira Jinya, Matsumae Jinya, Kiyokawa Jinya, etc. [source needed], but after it was designated as a national "historic site" in 1965, it was named "Matsumae Domain Togirichi Jinya Site".
The 800-meter-long cherry blossom tunnel leading from Hokkaido Road No. 96 Kamiiso Togeshita Line to the camp ruins was planted by Minejiro Iwafune, a kimono merchant in Hakodate, on the road from the Omote-gomon ruins to the camp entrance in prayer for victory in the Russo-Japanese War. There are mainly Someiyoshino cherry trees, but also Ezo-Yamazakura (Oyama-zakura), Yae-zakura, the rare Jugatsu-zakura, and Gyoikou cherry trees.
