Starting in 2018, the area was declared unsuitable for swimming due to the dangerous offshore currents.
The sand on this beach in one area makes a squeaky sound because it has a lot of glass mixed in with it.
Some people still go surfing here but there aren’t any surf guards.
Muroran Yurara Hot Spring (室蘭温泉ゆらら) isn’t that far away from this beach and only costs about 680 yen.
